The project ‘Better teachers, better students' is the KA1 project of the Cirkevna spojena skola in Vranov nad Toplou, Slovakia. The main objective of this project is to prepare a series of educational activities for the teachers of this school. We have prepared a 1-year long project beginning on 01/9/2018 and finishing on 31/08/2019. Altogether we have selected 8 participants for whom we have designed courses that will bring positive impact on teachers, students, and the region of our school. There are teachers of different teaching subjects from geography, social studies, foreign languages, pre-primary teacher together with a member of our school managment.
All participants are the teachers of our school where they have been teaching for a couple of years. The courses cover areas such as basic language development, methodology areas as well as the use of ICT.
We are sure this project will bring a number of positives to the development of the pariticpants, students and our school. This project will help to increase the professional performance of the participants themselves by developing their language and cooperative skills.
Moreover, the whole school will have a great benefit from sharing good practice and other ideas absorbed during the courses, which means that there are other teachers of our school who will gain a lot from this project. New competences will be confirmed by Europass Mobility certificate, which is especially important for the promotion in one's professional career.
The courses are a great opportunity for teachers to meet other colleagues form abroad and make new contacts with them. The general truth is that the more nationalities, the richer the experience. These courses will enhance mutual sharing of good practise among the participants, which will contribute to understanding the education in a broader sense.
Finally, the participation in this project will serve a good example of how teachers can contribute to the development of their own personality as well as the whole institution, which can later be used as the beginning for preparing another similar project for other teachers, so that the highest possible number of our teachers could travel to European countries and gain fruitful ideas, which willl be a contribution to the Slovak system of education making it more European.
